ABOUT US
The project 'Open Research Behind Closed Doors' is conducted by the Ludwig Boltzmann Institute of Fundamental and Human Rights (LBI-GMR) and its partners Selbst- und Interessenvertretung zum Maßnahmenvollzug in Austria, Antigone in Italy, and the Strafvollzugsarchiv in Germany. All three organizations work with people deprived of liberty and are committed to investigating and protecting human rights.

The LBI-GMR also runs the Atlas of Torture website, on which blog entries written by relevant
actors and more detailed information on this project can be found. The Atlas of Torture also contains a comprehensive database, a map of activities where you can follow various projects related to the prevention of torture, as well as learning and exchange platforms.
